Lingual braces

Lingual braces are fixed braces bonded to the inner side of the teeth. They are completely invisible, but also the least comfortable of all types of braces though. The tongue is very sensitive and if brackets and wires get into its way, the beginning of the treatment is very difficult. The tongue is swollen, grazed and the patient struggles with proper pronunciation. After a month the tongue gets used to it and the treatment isn't as difficult as it was at its very beginning. It is necessary to remember that lingual braces are the most time-consuming type of braces. Every check-up, once every 4-6 weeks, will take about 1.5 hours, which is a big difference compared to Invisalign aligners, which require check-ups every 12 weeks and a check-up lasts about 15-30 minutes.

We are experienced in using Orapix, Incognito, Harmony system and so-called Hiro technique.

MUDr. Ondřej Suchý:

"Our office used to be one of the leading ones using lingual braces in the Czech Republic. Because of the fast development of removable aligners Invisalign we use lingual braces less and less. As Invisalign braces are more comfortable, nearly invisible, cheaper and thanks to more precise planning we can achieve perfect results easier, the lingual braces are used minimally in our office nowadays."
